Refresh Rate Test

Estimate how often this browser updates an animation during a five-second test. The result reflects browser timing, not your screen's exact refresh rate.

Browser frame timing

Ready

Keep this tab visible during the test.

How to Use Refresh Rate Test

  1. Move the browser window fully onto the screen you want to check.
  2. Select Start 5-second test.
  3. Keep this tab visible and leave the window on that screen until the result appears.
  4. Read the estimated frames per second. Use Stop to cancel, or start another test to compare.

What you can check

What your result means

Frames per second is the estimated number of browser animation updates in one second. A higher result means updates arrived more often during that run.

The median interval is the middle value of the gaps between updates. A wider interval range means timing varied more. The result does not measure screen response time or input delay.

Helpful tips

Close busy apps and keep the same power settings when comparing runs. Switching tabs cancels the test.

If the estimate seems low, check the refresh rate in your system settings and repeat. A low browser result alone does not prove a screen fault.

Frequently asked questions

Is this my monitor's exact refresh rate?

No. The browser, system workload, and power settings can affect the timing. Compare the estimate with your display settings.

Can I test an external screen?

Yes. Move the whole window onto that screen before starting. Keep it there for the full run.

Why does the result change between runs?

Other apps, browser work, and power saving can change timing. Repeat under similar conditions and compare the pattern, not a small difference.

Can the test increase my refresh rate?

No. It only reads browser timing. Change display settings through your device's supported controls if needed.
